William W. Black Named a VIP Member of Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Homicide Investigation
William Black is known as '"The Human Lie Detector" by his colleagues due to his interviewing/interrogation skills

GLENWOOD, IA, January 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William W. Black, Chief Criminal Investigator for the Office of the Nebraska State Attorney General, was recently named a VIP of the Year by Cambridge Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Known as "The Human Lie Detector" by his colleagues due to his interviewing/interrogation skills, Mr. Black holds more than three decades of experience in criminal investigation. For the past four years, he has served as the chief criminal investigator for the Nebraska State Attorney General. Mr. Black is in charge of the violent crimes unit, which includes homicide and sexual crimes, and supervises the homicide investigation tracking system used to help detect the presence of active serial rapists and murderers. He also assists other jurisdictions with their responsibilities to arrest and convict.

Following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, who was a sheriff, and grandfather, who was an interim police chief. Mr. Black earned a Bachelor of General Studies, with a minor in sociology and political science, in 1987 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha's School of Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement. He attributes his success to his open mindedness, keeping updated in the field, and continuing his education in law enforcement and anti-terrorism. In 1995, he was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Omaha Nebraska Breakfast Optimist Club. In the coming years, Mr. Black plans to maintain his current position and continue to expand the office's responsibilities across the state.
