Lander, Co-Chair of the Business Bankruptcy Practice Group at the Gallop law firm in St. Louis, has been chosen "Lawyer of the Year" for receiving particularly high ratings and particularly favorable comments and respect for his abilities, professionalism and integrity from his peers in the legal profession.

Mr. Lander's "Lawyer of the Year" distinction is for his expertise in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law and, also, Equipment Finance Law, as identified by attorneys in a national survey conducted by Best Lawyers in America , a preeminent referral guide to the legal profession in the United States. Mr. Lander is the only attorney in St. Louis named "Lawyer of the Year" in those practice areas.

Mr. Lander's designation will appear in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, a guide published since 1983 that lists attorneys rated as "the best" by more than 15,000 of their peers. 2012 is the first year that Best Lawyers is designating "Lawyers of the Year" in high-profile legal practice areas in large legal communities.

As an attorney with Gallop, Mr. Lander has represented secured creditors, mortgagees, unsecured creditors, debtors and unsecured creditors' committees in out-of-court workouts, Chapter 11 reorganizations and enforcement of creditors' rights. His practice also includes representing purchasers of businesses in financial distress. Mr. Lander has authored many articles and book chapters focusing on agribusiness finance, business loan workouts and bankruptcy, among other legal topics. Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court John G.
